Глобальное потребление энергии
Source: Novatlantis, Leichter Leben, 2004

The total amount of primary energy consumed worldwide each year currently stands at approx. 107,000,000 GWh (= 107 * 1015 Wh). The world electricity requirement accounts for approx. 18,000,000 GWh (= 18 * 1015 Wh) per year, or 17% of that total. By comparison, Germany consumes 4,070,500 GWh of primary energy and 550,000 GWh of electricity per year.

The requirement is forecast to rise by 50% to 160,500,000 GWh by 2030, and to 321,000,000 GWh (200%) by 2060. The main reasoning behind this is an assumption that the standard of living in developing countries – China and India in particular – will have risen strongly by that time and reached parity with western industrial countries.

Limited fossil fuel resources cannot even begin to satisfy these growing energy requirements.
